L5 EFEK TRANSIEN RAGKAIAN RC

I TUJUAN PERCOBAAN

1.      Mempelajari proses pengisian dan pelepasan muatan pada kapasitor.

2.      Mempelajari efek transien pada rangkaian RC dengan menggunakan multimeter.

3.      Menghitung konstanta waktu rangkaian RC.

II PERALATAN

1.      Resistor dan kapasitor.

III TEORI

            Apabila sumber arus searah dihubungkan dengan sebuah kapasitor, muatan-muatan dari sumber dipompakan pada kapasitor. Akibatnya lempeng-lempeng dalam kapasitor, yang semula netral, membentuk polaritas yang berbeda. Melalui hambatan R yang dirangkai seri dengan kapasitor, pengisian muatan mengalami hambatan. Oleh karenanya, selain bergantung pada tegangan sumber, pengisian muatan juga bergantung pada waktu.

            Gambar 1 memperlihatkan rangkaian seri yang dihubungkan dengan sumber DC. Hubungan potensial saat kapasitor dimuati adalah :

dengan Vo , VR , dan VC menyatakan potensial sumber, potensial pada hambatan dan potensial pada kapasitor, q adalah muatan yang mengisi kapasitor, i adalah arus yang melewati rangkaian dan C adalah besar kapasitas dari kapasitor.

Dengan menggunakan persamaan (2) dan (3), persamaan (1) dapat diselesaikan untuk menentukan potensial kapasitor saat pengisian muatan :

V_C = V_O ( 1 – e ^{–t / RC} )             (4)

Apabila sumber dilepas dan rangkaian RC dihubung-singkat (seperti pada gambar 2), maka kapasitor akan melepaskan muatannya. Hubungan potensial pada kondisi ini adalah :

V_O = V_R + V_C                          (5)

Persamaan (5) ini dapat diselesaikan menjadi :

V_C = V_CO e^-t/RC                        (6)

VC menyatakan potensial kapasitor saat pelepasan muatan dan VCO merupakan potensial kapasitor mula-mula.

Rangkain RC ( Resistor – Kapasitor ) adalah suatu rangkain listrik yang memiliki kombinasi komponen resistor dan kapasitor, dimana komponen tersebut biasanya dipasang secara seri atau sejajar. Walaupun sering diumpai rangkaian dengan resistor dan kapasitor yang dipasang berdampingan secara seri, rangkaian ini juga dapat dipasang secara pararel. Pada suatu susunan rangkaian komponen resistor dan kapasitor juga dapat memiliki jumlah banyak atau lebih dari satu. Rangkaian ini biasa disebut  R-C Filter atau R-C Network. Karena memiliki resistor maka dalam rangkaian ini terdapat efek resistansi, begitupula pada kapasitor yang menghasilkan kapasitansi. Catatan penting adalah rangkaian ini harus disusun berdasarkan aturan yang benar supaya bisa dijalankan.

Rangkaian RC ( Resistor – Kapasitor ) Circuits digunakan dalam penyaringan sinyal dengan memberikan tahanan atau blok. Tahanan tersebut dihasilkan oleh resistor melalui kemampuan resistansi.  Selanjutnya sinyal juga akan disimpan dalam kapasitor melalui efek kapasitansi. Mengingat kembali bahwa resistor adalah komponen yang memungkinkan adanya hambatan untuk menahan aliran arus listrik dan kapasitor yang berfungsi untuk penyimpanan sementara arus listrik yang lewat, maka metod penyaringan sinyal yang tepat telah ditemukan. Jika dikaitkan pada Hukum Kirchoff, maka pada rangkaian ini dengan mengabaikan unsur eksteren kita akan mengetahui bahwa arus yang mengalir pada resistor dan kapasitor memiliki nilai yang sama.

Pada rangkaian RC, besarnya arus yang mengalir dalam suatu rngkaian akan memiliki nilai yang sama dengan Q atau muatan yang ada pada kapasitor fenomena tersebut akan terjadi dalam selang waktu yang lama. Perubahan besarnya arus dan muatan kapasitor dapat dihitung secara linear melalui metode grafik. Selain iu GGL atau yang apabila dipanjangkan menjadi Gaya Gerak Listrik akan memiliki hambatan yang sama dengan tahanan yang dipunyai oleh resistor dan kaasitor. Selang waktu rata-rata pun dapan dicari dengan memperhatikan banyaknya muatan dan tahanan ada pada ragkaian.

Rangkain listrik tidak dapat dipisahkan dari penyusunnya sendiri, yaitu berupa elemen atau komponen. Pada kali ini akan dibahas elemen atau komponen listrik aktif dan pasif.

ELEMEN AKTIF

Elemen aktif adala elemen yang menghasilkan energi, pada mata kuliah Rangaian Listrik yang akan dibahas pada elemen akif adalah sumber  tenganga dan sumber arus. Pada pembahasan selanjutnya kita akan membicarakan semua yang berkaitan dengan elemen atau komponen ideal. Yang dimaksud dengan kondisi ideal disini adalah bahwa sesuatunya berdasarkan dari sifat karakteristik dari elemen atau komponen tersebut dan tidak terpengaruh oleh lingkugan luar. Jadi untuk elemen listrik seperti sumber tegangan, sumber arus, komponen R,L,dan C pada mata kuliah ini diasumsikan semuanya dalam kondisi ideal.

1.      Sumber Tegangan ( Voltage Source )

Sumber tegangan ideal adalah suatu sumber yang menghasilkan tegangan yang tetap, tidak tergantung pada arus yang mengalir pada sumber tersebut, meskipun tegangan tersebut merupakan fungsi dari t.

Sifat lain : mempunyai nilai resistansi dalam Rd = 0 (sumber tegangan ideal)

a.      Sumber Tegangan Bebas ( Independent Voltage Sourse)

Sumber yang menghasilkan tegangan tetap tetapi mempunyai sifat khusus yaitu harga tegangannya tidak bergantung pada harga tegangan atau arus lainnya, artinya nilai tersebut berasal dari sumber tegangan dia sendiri.

b.      Sumber Tegangan Tidak Bebas (Dependent Voltage Source)

Memiliki sifat khusus yaitu harga tegangan tergantung pada harga tegangan atau arus lainnya.

2.      Sumber Arus ( Current Source)

Sumber arus ideal adalah sumber yang menghasilkan arus yang tetap, tidak bergantung pada tengangan dari arus sumber tersebut.

Sifat lain : memiliki nilai resitansi dalam Rd = ∞  (sumber arus ideal)

a.      Sumber Arus Bebas (Independent Voltage Source)

Mempunyai sifat khusus yaitu harga arus tidak bergantung pada harga tegangan atau arus lainnya.

b.      Sumber Arus Tidak Bebas (Dependent Voltage Source)

Mempunyai sifat khusus, yaitu harga arus bergantung pada harga tegangan atau arus lainnya.

ELEMEN PASIF

1.      Resistor ( R)

Sering juga disebut dengan tahanan, hambatan, penghatar, atau resistansi dimana resistor mempunyai fungsi sebagai penghambat arus, pembagi arus, dan pembagi tegangan. Nilai resistor tergantung dari hambatan jenis bahan resistor itu sendiri (tergantung dari bahan pebuatnya), panjang resistor dari resistor itu sendiri dan luas penampang dari resistor itu sendiri.

Secara matematis :

ρ= hambatan jenis

l = panjang resistor                      

A = luas penampang

Jika suatu resistor dilewati oleh sebuah arus maka pada kedua ujung dari resistor tersebut akan menimbulkan beda potensial atau tegangan. Hukum ysng didapat dari percobaan ini adalah Hukum Ohm.

2.      Kapasitor (C)

Sering juga disebut dengan konsensator atau kapasitansi. Mempunyai fungsi untuk membatasi arus DC yang mengalir padaa kapasitor tersebut, dan dapat menyimpan energy dalam bentuk medan listrik. Nilai suatu kapasitor tergantung dari nilai permitivitas baan pembuata kapasitor, luas penampang dari kapasitor tersebut dan jarak antar dua keeping penyususn dari kapasitor tersebut.

Secara matematis :

ε = permitivitas bahan

A = luas penampang bahan

d = jarak dua keeping

Satuan dari kapasitor : Farrad (F)

Jika sebuah kapasitor dilewati oleh sebuah arus maka pada kedua ujung kapasitor tersebut akan muncul beda potensial atau tegangan.

3.      Induktor / Induktansi / Lilitan / Kumpuran (L)

Sering disebut sebagai induktansi, lilitan, kumparan, aau belitan. Pada induktor mempunyai sifat dan dapat menyimpan energy dalam bentuk medan magnet. Satuan dari induktor : Henry (H)

IV CARA KERJA

A.    Menghitung konstanta waktu rangkaian RC dengan voltmeter

1.      Menyusun rangkaian seperti gambar 3, saklar mula-mula pada kondisi 1. Mengatur tegangan sumber 10 volt. Memperthatikan polaritas kapasitor.

2.      Memindahkan saklar keposisi 2 dan catat VC setiap 40 detik sebanyak 15 data.

3.      Memindahkan saklar ke kondisi 1, dan catat VC setiap 40 detik sebanyak 15 data.

4.      Mengulangi untuk harga R dan C yang lain.

V TUGAS PENDAHULUAN

1.      Jelaskan apa yang dimaksud dengan “Efek Transien Rangkaian RC” ?

Jawab : Efek Transien Rangkaian RC adalah rangkaian listrik yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dari elemen atau komponen, yaitu terdiri dari elemen aktif dan pasif atau komponen lisrik akif dan pasif.

2.      Apa fungsi kapasitor ? Gambarkan simbol kapasitor, dan satu jenis bentuk fisik dari kapasitor yang ada.

Jawab : Fungsi kapasitor dalam komponen elektronika adalah sebagai penyimpanan muatan listrik, selain fungsi tersebut kapasitor juga dapat digunakan sebagai penyaring frekuensi. Dalam muatan listrik terdapat kapasitas penyimpanan kemampuan kapasitor yang dinamakan Farrad dengan simbol “F” . simbol dari kapasitor itu sendiri adalah “C” (kapasitor).

3.       Apa fungsi resistor pada rangkaian ini ? Apa yang terjadi bila resistor tidak ada ?

Jawab : Resistor adalah sala satu komponen elektronika yang berfungsi sebagai penahan arus yang mengalir dalam suatu rangkaian dan berupa terminal dua komponen elektronika yang menghasilkan tegangan pada terminal yang sebanding dengan arus listrik yang melewatinya sesuai dengan Hukum Ohm ( V = IR ). Fungsi resistor adalah sebagai pengatur dalam membatasi jumlah arus yang mengalir dalam suatu rangkaian resistor pada rangkaian elektronik, biasanya digunakan untuk mengurangi tegangan atau encocokan leve tegangan. Kalau tidak ada resistor maka yang terjadi adalah rangkaian tidak dapat bekerja karena tidak ada arus listriknya.

4.      Jika diketahui VC = VCO . e^-t/RC , dengan cara melinearkan, tentukan nilai konstanta waktunya.

Jawab : Perkalian hanbatan R dengan kapasitas kapasitor C dinamakan konstanta waktu. Cara menentukan nilai konstanta dari rumus diatas ialah :

Konstanta waktu = RC      t = R.C

5.       Jelaskan apa yang dimaksud dengan “ time constant “ .

Jawab : Time Constan adalah waktu itu akan mengambil untuk perbedaan potensial diselur kapasitor (dalam rangkain RC) untuk meningkatkan ketingkat yang sama sebagai tegangan yang dikenakan tegangan atas kapasitor yang jatuh pada tingkat yang sama.

6.       Apa yang terjadi bila pada percobaan rangkaian RC bila diberikan sumber tegangan AC

Jawab : Rangkaian AC adalah rangkaian yang memiliki arus bolak – balik. Kapasitor dan induktor saat diberi sumber tegangan AC akan memiliki impedansi untuk perbandingan phasor tegangan dan phasor arus.
